What is a Lifeline?

A lifeline alarm uses your phone line to call for emergency assistance.

How Much Does a Lifeline Cost?

A monthly rental monitoring charge of £14 per calendar month.

What is the Contract Length?

There is no set contract length. You are able to use North East Lincolnshire Carelink for as long as you need the service.

How Does the Lifeline Work?

Once the lifeline alarm or pendant is activated, a local rate phone call is made to our control room. Our dedicated operators will then arrange the help that you require.

What If I Accidentally Press the Equipment?

If you activate your lifeline alarm or pendant accidentally, please do not worry. As long as you speak to us over the system or when we call you back on your telephone, no action will be taken.

What Happens in a Power Cut?

Should you be in the midst of a power cut or switch the power to your lifeline off, the lifeline alarm will continue to work for up to 24 hours by using its battery back-up.

Who Can Have a Lifeline Alarm?

Anyone can have a lifeline alarm for help during emergencies or reassurance. Either way, our services are available 24/7.

What is a Key Safe?

A key safe allows immediate access to both family and emergency services. Your key is placed into the key safe, which can only be opened by using a code that is chosen by you. They can then get hold of your key to gain access.

Who Owns the Lifeline Unit?

The lifeline alarm unit is owned by North East Lincolnshire Carelink. All you are paying for is the rental of the equipment and monitoring of the system.

Will the Lifeline Work without a Phone Line?

No. The lifeline needs a phone line to dial our control room.

Will the Pendant Work Outside?

The pendant will work around your home and in your garden. It will be tested during your demonstration and you will be notified of its range capacity. Please note that the pendant only works around your home.

Can I Wear My Pendant in the Bath?

Some pendants are splashproof and others are waterproof. You will be informed of this during the demonstration.

Can I Get a Replacement Pendant Strap?

Yes. Please call 01472 312312 from Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m., and a replacement will be sent to you.

What Happens If I Lose My Pendant?

If you lose your pendant, we arrange a replacement for the next working day. If the pendant is not recovered, you will have to pay for the replacement.

What Happens If You Cannot Speak to the Operator?

Once we answer the call, if we cannot hear you, we will call you back on your landline. If there is no answer, we will call a contact or emergency services to check on you, day or night.

Can I Still Have a Lifeline without Contacts?

Yes you can, but we strongly recommend a key safe for your own safety.
